A motor

Hvordan kan jeg se på en 1000 motor om det er en A eller A+ motor ? Jeg har fået at vide at den tidligere ejer har sat en metro motor i.

Hi Hanne,
Sorry this is in English, but I hope you will undrestand. There are a few differences between the "A" series motors (earlier type) and the A+ motors (later type) which are quite easy to see:

1 on the head (topstykke) behind the thermostat housing, the A+ has what looks like letters/numbers and a raised line. The A series is completely flat with nothing to see.

2 "A" series heads have a "by-pass hose" (a small rubber hose from the head to the water pump). A+ do not have this hose.

3 The distributor (strømfordeler?) on the "A" series has a bracket with a small bolt on top and 2 bolts that go into the motor block. The A+ has a bracket for the distributor which is only held by ONE bolt to the bottom right of the distributor.

4 The holes in the engine block for the alternator (strømveksler??) bracket - on the "A" series these 2 holes are between the 2nd and 3rd spark plug, so the bracket is quite long. On the A+ these 2 holes are between the 1st and 2nd spark plug, so the bracket is quite short.

These are the most obvious signs. If you are still unsure, email me a couple of pictures of your motor and I should be able to let you know.

Hope this helps.

Hanne
En A+ blok er nem at genkende, idet den har ligesom et5 "netværk" af støbejerns forstærkninger nederst foran og ligeledes bagpå se her http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8029267138&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:UK:41
